How to make more money with Google AdSense
Firstly, I’d like to say that I will show you real AdSense optimisation besides my investigation of one unnamed site website, which offers high income for 97$ only. Please, read the whole article, so you’ll understand every piece of my strategies and ideas.

I say, it’s bullshit! How can anyone sell an outstanding tips or high income strategies for $97 only? Look at the first picture. They say that their daily AdSense income is about $1300. Why they want to sell you things for less than $100? If I was earning about $1300 on a daily basis, I would forget about creating a site, promoting it or so. What’s more, these sites are very poor and they don’t offer any real content. Besides some testimonials, you can find incredible stories about how their e-book helped some people. What’s behind these „Incredible packages?“ You can search Google for „adsense e-book project“. You will get an idea how these things born…
That domain was bought in the year of 2004, so it seems like a serious business, some might say. Let’s take a look at what they were offering on 27/January/2005…
You should note, that the price was $67 only. Nowdays, it costs $97. But when was the price at $127 value? Never! I checked how the site was looking on 3/February/2005 and suddenly the „previous“ price raised to $127, which was, naturally, cross-lined. What you can’t find on the previous versions of this „successfull“ website, is the „AdSense income“. What’s more, they’re giving you promises. Promises about high income, the best colours, borders, backgrounds, average CTR and „more“. Their promises don’t end just here. They continue with lies about the best paying keywords and earnings of $39 per 1 click! Interesting… In January/2005, they were offering „The 5 keyword phrases that have $100.00 per click bids at Overture!“ Nowdays, they offer only „The 1 keyword phrases that have bids greater than $40 at Overture!“ Something went wrong here. Why do they offer less than year and half before? The answer is simple; People found it as a lie! I’m wondering who would pay $100 for 1 click! I’m also wondering who would spend $30 on 1 click. While my research, I found some phrases for about $10 per 1 click, but I must say that such phrases have about 1 000 000 000+ competitors! It isn’t real to get into the top10 for such phrases within a short time. It probably needs 5+ years!
Yes, that could be enough for an ordinary webmaster to close such page. But I went through the rest of this website with the following results… They offer content! Nowdays, everyone knows that content must be unique, otherwise your business might be considered as a spam or it might be taken as breaking the copyrights. Do they know such things? Yes, they know it. But they want to get money from people, because they think that people trust them. That website says you won’t be penalized, because they use some kind of RSS reader and it automatically put different content to your website. I wouldn’t believe it, because I’m a webmaster and I know that not only strictly copied sites are being penalized. Google isn’t stupid and who thinks it’s, is the most stupid person all over the world! Look at another testimonial…
Great! You know what? That site is for sale now! Huge income and unbelievable rankings… A lie or a great lie? I’ll ask you; Would you sell a site which makes at least $100 daily? I wouldn’t! Scrolling down this website, I found the following sentence „Make more money by tracking your AdSense“. Well, I installed a free AdSense tracking tool for my friend and I can say it’s great. Personally, I’m not using it, but if I had to install any tracking tool, I would install some free tool instead of paying for such stuff.

If you are reading carefully, you should note that they will sell you their product via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection even though there is no SSL on their server! Such websites are only some kind of affiliates and I strongly recommend you to avoid such „shops“.
Genrally, there is a long and hard way until you reach desired goals and until you become rich with your website…
Learn, read and test you own site and ads types. Let’s start from the beginning and I’ll tell you which ads are worth it…
Let’s consider that you already run a website, so you don’t need any keyword analysis or such things. I wrote about this kind of things in my previous articles. So, take an example. You’re getting about 1000 visitors on a daily basis. These 1000 visitors usually make about 10000 pageviews daily. An average CTR (click through ratio) should vary between 1% and 2%. It isn’t anything impressive, but it’s the way how AdSense advertisement goes. Naturally, CTR might be at about 20% value, but this fact considers very high interest of the visitors. Such CTRs can be achieved for some business products, informative sites dedicated to small area of interest and so on.
My first tip: If you don’t have enough visitors, don’t want much money! If you’re getting 10 visitors each day, forget about millions of dollars. Usually, no-one will tell you that the first and the most important step how to make money from Google AdSense, is SEO. It all starts with SEO and AdSense optimisation is only a part of SEO. Naturally, it doesn’t belong to on-site or off-site SEO, but it’s very important factor. Why? Simple because of one reason; Webmasters will not link to you if your site is primarily focusing on AdSense income.
My second tip goes to the visibility of any advertisement. Basically, you must make your ads visible to the visitors, but they should look like a natural part of the site. Sometimes, contrast colours are good, but I recommend to test them. Only if you test the ads placement, size and colours, you will get how these things work. I’d like to show you two examples…
The website construction above is good. And it creates enough opportunities to earn money, because AdSense will look like a natural part of a website. Please note, that I use the colours on the images just to show you where the objects are placed at. This kind of AdSense placement could mean some problems with getting enough links. People will find your site was made for AdSense. On the other side, if you offer very useful content, webmasters will love to link to you no matter you use such advertisement types.
The following website concept is more friendly to the visitors and it looks like very successfull.
There is a simple reason why you can make money with such concept. People will find your site, they will visit the content and if they’re interested, they will click on some AdSense ad. Just for fun, let’s take a look at very unfortunate solutions…
The first case is called „MFA“, or „Made for AdSense“. You should avoid such concept, because no-one serious will link to you.
Another wrong solution is to place the ad somewhere where people won’t click. Such places are usually the bottom, the top (over the navigation menu) and places where the visitors don’t look at.
Now, let me explain you why the horizontal ads aren’t as successfull as vertical ones. There are only a few reasons why it’s as it is. Firstly, people read any content from the top to the bottom. Secondly, people go from line to another line and their eyes primarily focus on the left and right border. So if you place your advertisement besides your content, you will be able to earn more money from AdSense. The last reason (and maybe the most important one) is that vertical ads show the links with larger font! Yes, any large font can be found easily by a human visitor. AdSense ads should look like a natural part of your website. Make their colours peaceful to the visitors’ eyes, but keep them attractive. Sometimes, the borders are needed, sometimes they aren’t. It all depends on how the content is shown on the page.
